The Shipwreck Museum: The sunken ship exhibited in Girne (Kyrenia) Castle is the oldest found so far. The sunken ship belongs to the period when the fleets of the Hellenistic Kingdom, established after the death of Alexander the Great, sailed the Mediterranean Sea. The ship was evidently caught in a storm and sank not far from the Girne (Kyrenia) shore.

St. Hilarion Castle was built as a church by the Byzantines and later turned into a castle during the Lusignan period in the 10th Century.

Buffavento Castle: Buffavento Castle is another castle like St. Hilarion, built on a windy hilltop to protect the island against Arab attacks. The name means "not afraid of the wind." Although the exact date of construction is not known, it was probably built when Richard the Lionheart conquered Cyprus. The princess noted the improved health of her dog, and found it had been drinking from a spring beneath the castle.
